Introduction
Computer Objects in Markus Back Office are essential for the whole sales system.
These describe what and how to display different features in that specific computer.
Creating a new Computer Object
Log in to Your Back Office and navigate to Theatre -> Computers
Now right click anywhere in the computer list area and select "New".
(another way is to use the "NEW" button at the top right and selecting "Computer" from the dropdown list)
Configuring the new Computer Object
Firstly, the System name needs to be set - this cannot be random.
The Name of the object must be the same as the Windows System name. This can easily be checked from the Windows settings.
Open Your Windows search bar by clicking the Windows icon on Your taskbar or clicking the ⊞ Win Key.
Search for "About Your PC"
Copy the name from the "Device Name" field

When the Name field is filled, configure the other necessary settings.
- Theatre - Select the Unit the computer is located at. For Office computers, there will most likely be a "HQ" theatre listed.
- Sales Point - Select the Sales Point role for this computer
- This defines what functionalities this computer will have when launching different Markus programs
- Computer Configuration - Select the Configuration settings for that computer
- The computer configuration is mostly for setting up how different receipts/items are printed out and to which layout. Can also enable/disable different object printing.
Computer configuration also decribes different add-on device configurations (Cash Machine, Fiscal, Card Payment Engine, Customer Screen, SMS sending etc.)
- Resource - When configured, orders from that Computer will automatically have that resource attached to Kitchen Orders.
When everything is configured, Select "Save" or "Save and Close".
Congratulations! You have now added a new Computer Object to Markus Back Office!
