Step 1: Go to Products > Product Modifiers > click on New
Step 2: Name the Product Modifier (1)
If wanted add description which will only be visible in the back office (2)
Choose whether this Product Modifier is Optional and can be skipped or Mandatory which means at least on of the added choices must be selected (3)
Default Sort Order will define the Product Modifier’s default sequence order in Product Modifier Set (4)
Add translations (usually first two/ three translation fields are used) (5)
Insert Kitchen Label Prefix which will be printed out to kitchen receipt. This field is optional and can be left empty and only Kitchen Label field in Product Modifier Choice can be used. It depends on how you decide to form the add-on product question (6)
Choose whether selection mode should be Single Choice (only one choice can be selected from the Choices list) or Multiple Choices (several choices can be selected from the Choices list (7)
Click on Add Choice button (8)
Step 3: In Product Modifier Choice window name the Product Modifier Choice (1)
From drop-down menu choose Add-on Product if this extra includes also product which should be deducted from your warehouse or leave it empty if the choice being created is informational (for example whether to have the drink with or without ice) (2)
If Add-on Product is being used you must first create regular type product as usual, add it to the pricelist(s) and only then you can select the product from the Add-on Product drop-down menu.
Sort order will define the sequence of the choice being created (3)
Add translations if needed (4)
Insert Kitchen Label. This field will be used on kitchen receipt printouts (5)

Default Quantity can either be 0 - no preselectios have been made;
or 1 - which means that by default this choice is preselected, but of course can be unselected
Removed Item Labels (7) is not yet functional! It is going to be used for exclusions, so that items (pickles, tomato, onion etc.) could be taken away from the product.
Use Media Resources tab to add picture (8)
Save and Close (9)
Follow previous instructions regarding the creation of choices and create as many different choices under one Product Modifier as needed.
Choices will be visible in Product Modifier window in the section named Choices (1) and general picture for Product Modifier can be added using Media Resources tab (2)
All Product Modifiers which we would like to assign to one certain product should be combined to one set and for this we will use Product Modifier Sets option.
Step 1: Go to Products > Product Modifier Sets > click on New from HOME menu
Step 2: In Product Modifier Set window name the Product Modifier Set (1)
Add Description which is optional and only visible for the back office users (2)
Click on Add Product Modifier button (3) and from a pop-up box select a modifier you would like to add. Continue until all Product Modifiers which should be included in this set have been added.
By clicking on Remove Product Modifier button you can remove the selected product modifier from the Product Modifiers list (4)
Customization Modifier option will be used with exclusions option which is not yet fully implemented (5)
Step 1: Go to Products > Products > from the products list open the correct Product details card.
Or use search box when you know product’s system name or code.
Step 2: Open Product description and Options tab (1) and from the Modifier Set’s drop-down menu located at section named “After Sales Activity” choose correct Modifier Set (2)
Save and Close (3)
In the next example we will customize a product named Pasta Bolognese.
We will create 4 Product Modifiers, will combine them to one Product Modifier Set and later will assign this set to a product
Step 1: We need to create 4 different Product Modifiers
First we would like to ask clients their pasta preferences. For this we will use the Product Modifier created earlier.
As we see here the Constraint of this Product Modifier is Mandatory. This means one of the pasta types must be selected from the choices listed.
Default Sort Order will define the questions sequence. When Pasta Bolognese is selected the first question will be about pasta type.
Information on the Kitchen Label Prefix field will be sent to kitchen.
And as Selection Mode is Single Choice only one pasta type can be selected from the list.
For all choice options the Default Quantity is 0, therefore no preselections have been made
The next question will be about meat. Whether the client would like to add some meat or would prefer to have no meat at all.
This time Constraint is Optional. This means that the question can be skipped and it is not mandatory to add meat to the dish.
Default Sort Order is 2 as this will be the second question.
Kitchen Label Prefix is left empty.
Although Kitchen Label Prefix is empty, information regarding modifier will still be sent to the kitchen when Extra beef 70gr is selected, because Kitchen Label field inside the Product Modifier Choice named Extra beef 70gr is filled.
Selection Mode is Multiple choices, so we can select and add as many different choices to the dish as we like. We can have a Pasta Bolognese with beef and tofu.
The third Product Modifier we would like to add is about seasoning. Whether client would like to have chilli and/ or garlic.
Again this is something that is not mandatory, therefore Constraint is Optional. As this will be the third question, Default Sort Order is 3. Selection Mode is Multiple choices, so that both choices could be added if needed.
And last but not least let's ask if the customer would prefer to have some some ciabatta as well.
Let’s assume that ciabatta is something most clients would have with their meal. In orded to have this choice preselected by default, Default Quantity is set 1. Constraint is Optional and Default Sort Order is 4 as this is the fourth question. Kitchen Label Prefix field is empty. The choice named Ciabatta itself includes Kitchen Label.
Double click on the Choices row named Ciabatta will open the Product Modifier Choice window.
Step 2: Product Modifier Sets option will help us to combine these four questions.
We will name the Product Modifier Set to “PASTA”. This way we will know later to assign correct set to our product.
By clicking on Add Product Modifier button we will add all previously created Product Modifiers one by one to the set.
Step 3: Finally we will need to look up the product called “Pasta Bolognese” and assign the Modifier Set as described earlier.
After a product including Product Modifier Set is selected, all Product Modifiers in this set will be presented one by one to the user:
Please Choose Pasta Type
Pasta type must be selected as the constraint was set mandatory.
“Next” and “Next Mandatory” buttons will become active once the the choice has been made.
PS! Double click on the choice will activete it and will automatically take the user to the next question.
“Next Mandatory” button will skip all questions in this set which were defined as optional.
2. Would you like to add meat to the dish?
Next we will add meat. As the choices in this Product Modifier were defined as Multiple Choices we can select several options.
3. Chilli and Garlic
When no chilli or garlic is wanted, we can just skip the question and move to the NEXT one.
4. Ciabatta bread
By default Ciabatta is already selected because this Product Modifier’s Choice Default Quantity was set to 1. If we do not want to add Ciabatta one click on the box will deactivate the selection.
After the last question clicking on NEXT button regular sales flow will follow.
On the kitchen receipt modifiers will be listed under the main product.
Pasta type is the information inserted to Product Modifier Kitchen Label Prefix field and Fusilli is the information inserted to Product Modifier Choice Kitchen Label field.
As Product Modifier regarding meat options had no Kitchen Label Prefix there is no additional information in front of Extra beef 70gr; Extra chicken 70gr etc.
