MCS - "Bundle" products

MCS - "Bundle" products

The idea of Bundle is to give discount to the products which have been described in MARKUS back office as bundle and make up the combo. Provided that all products which make up the bundle have been put into shopping cart.

Step by step instructions how to create bundle (combo) products.

  1. Open MARKUS back office and navigate to the "Registers" section.
  2. Create new Product Bundle Item classes from Product Bundle Item Class menu. For example, you can name it "Soft Drink, Nachos, Popcorn," or any other relevant name that represents the bundle you want to create.

  3. Link Product Bundle Item Class with specific product you would like to be part of the campaign. For example, we would like to have offer: nachos + medium soft drink = 6 €.
In Markus BO we already have product for Nachos and a product for Medium Drink (Drink 0,5 l – medium).

Open Nachos product details and select from drop-down menu Bundle Item Class -> Nachos + Save and Close.

For Drink 0,5l (medium) select Bundle Item Class -> Soft Drink M + Save and Close

  4. Next create a new Bundle type product
In MARKUS this product defines the sales price for the combo, provided that the new Bundle type product is added to correct pricelist(s)
In Bundle type product definition also the products that add up the combo are defined.
Accounting code is usually the article ID from the warehouse system if the latter is used.
    Product Type must be Bundle

  5. In the same Product Details window Activate Bundle Definition tab (1) using + icon (2) add the correct Bundle Item Classes you created in step 2 that make up the bundle and specify the bundle price share percentage (3 and 4) + Save and Close (5).
In our example, we have a special offer for Nachos + medium Soft Drink M. Total price for this combo should be 6 €. You would like to give soft drink for 1.50 € which is 25% of 6 € and nachos for 4.50 € which is 75% of 6 €.

PS! If you have similar bundles for example, nachos + soft drink M and popcorn + soft drink M and you prefer that bundle is formed from popcorn + soft drink rather than nachos + soft drink when all three items have been put to shopping cart, use the "Formation Order" option.
Formation Order option can be found from the same "Bundle definition" tab.

  6. And last, but not least, add the bundle type product to relevant pricelist(s).
